Testimonials

Clayton
Violinist
The first time I felt like a good and professional orchestral bassist and was treated as one. The first time my family went to a major concert hall to watch me make high-level music. The first time I felt I could use all the technical and emotional tools I have to make music… The list goes on. (..) OVO is changing the lives of many people here in BH and the surrounding area for the better!

Hudson
Oboist
Since I was a child, music has been my refuge. Moving to Portugal was tough; I faced depression and bullying. But the OVO has given me a lifeline. The fagot became my anchor, and through the support and opportunities provided by the OVO, I found purpose and joy in my art. It’s more than just playing an instrument; it’s about finding a place where I belong and can thrive.
Statistics and Data
Millions of young Brazilians are forced to abandon their education due to economic pressures, lack of access, and inadequate support systems. By investing in educational programs, providing financial assistance, and improving school infrastructure, we can empower these youth to achieve their full potential and build a brighter future for our nation.
41% of youth aged 15-29 are not Studying or Working
Higher dropout rates among Black/Brown youths and females
In Brazil, only 18.1% of the population completes higher education, and the homicide rate among young Black individuals is nearly three times higher than that of young white individuals. OVO works to change these numbers through inclusiveness in music education.
